RUBY BRIDGES WALK TO SCHOOL DAY 2025!
On November 14th, 2025, over four thousand Salem-Keizer Public School students walked routes around their schools to commemorate Civil Rights icon Ruby Bridges.
At 6 years old, Ruby became the first African American student to attend an all-white school in New Orleans, Louisiana. Her historic steps into William-Frantz Elementary in 1960 marked the beginning of integration in the U.S. Education system.
Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day is meant to be a day of dialogue. Students are encouraged to have conversations about anti-racism, anti-bullying, and activism.
Thank you to all students, parents/guardians, school staff, and community members that participated in our 4th annual Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day.
