Art Contest
This spring, we are holding our third annual district-wide art contest for Salem-Keizer elementary school students (grades K–5). The winning entries will be featured in our 2023–24 school year calendar.
How to enter:
Create a drawing that shows what this phrase means to you:
“Many Ways to Move”
Rules:
Submit only hand-drawn artwork—no digital art will be accepted.
Use 8.5” x 11” paper.
You may use any non-digital medium (e.g., colored pencil, marker, watercolor, etc.). However, please do not submit chalk or oil pastel pieces without first spraying them with a finishing coat. Otherwise, the material rubs off onto anything it touches, including other artwork and the scanner.
You may work alone or in a pair with another student, but not in a group larger than two.
For the best results, we recommend using color and filling the whole page.

Submit your artwork and entry form to Salem-Keizer Safe Routes to School by mail or in person by 5 p.m. on Friday, April 7, 2023.
Please do not staple your artwork to your entry form. We have to remove all staples to scan the art for the website and calendar, and this process can damage the art.
We do not accept scanned copies of artwork. Please ensure that we receive a hard copy to be eligible for the contest.
You may enter by mail or through your K–5 teacher.
